Character Development and Inspiration: Elastigirl (The Incredibles)

Elastigirl is a loving mum, often seen to risk her life for her children. In one scene, she even launches herself towards a moving jet in order to save her youngest son, Jack Jack. Risking her life portrayed her almost like a ‘badass’. However, when not fighting crime and using her superpowers, she is running around the house, living the typical life of a mum showing the struggles they have to go through. She manages to maintain a consistent love and care for her kids.

My Film idea: ‘More than a game’ will have a character who acts in a very similar way to Elastigirl. That would be the loving mother of Mohamed, Tahani. At the beginning of the film, in a section of my screenplay, scene 2. She is seen making food for her son, getting frustrated when Mohamed doesnt listen to her. However, she shows her care by continuing making the food, allowing him to leave the house to follow his passion for football.

Not only that, in the final scene of my screenplay, she is worried about where mohamed went off too, she maintains the same level of love even when Mohamed didnt do what she told. For the majority of the film, she only really talks about the Protagonist, her son, Mohamed, and his dream of becoming a footballer, showing her man concern is the love and care of Mohamed and maintaining a bond. Like Elastigirl in The Incredibles.
