Film Plot Idea

Intention & Obstacle:

At the beginning of the film, young Mohamed and his family are getting bombed by the Israeli government. He is given a football someone called Abdul who will be seen at he end of the film. He gives a football to Mohamed because Abdul is running slowly. There is then an explosion in which the audience think that Abdul dies. The reason that the passing of the football is so significant is because this is Mohamed’s motivation for becoming a footballer and wanting to leave Gaza. This football is then seen in the flash forward to 4 years later.

Mohamed plays at dangerous territory, near the border, with some Israeli guards. he seems to have a lot of fun. However, his mum, Tahani, isn’t a fan of this as just a few years prior, she lost her husband to an Israeli guards. He, himself bumped into an Israeli guard and irritated him.  So he was shot and killed on the spot.

This explains why Tahani was very concerned for Mohamed’s safety.

Mohamed is the focal point of the film. Hes a young teenager, small with brownish hair. His passion for football sometimes gets the best of him. He takes little care in the things around him because his only focus is on making it big in the footballing world.

Tahani is Mohamed’s mother. Her main concern is Mohamed because she already lost her husband due to conflict with the Israeli guards. She does everything to protect her son.

Rami is the wife of Tahani who appears in the flashback in which he dies after only a few interactions with an Israeli guard. He was shot, killed and during that time he was presented as someone who cared \bout his family more than anything. He doesn’t take no for an answer.

Abdul is only seen at the beginning of the film snippet, he ‘dies’ due to an explosion that strikes the Gaza strip. he can be seen as the reason that Mohamed is attached to his football.

The main theme from this film is attachment. An how attachment can lead you into dangerous situations, how it can get the best of you etc. Tahani is attached to Mohamed. Mohamed is attached to his football.
